Ravishing Showdown: Top Team Rolls To 4-0 Victory!
Angers manager Alexandre Dujeux set for contract extension Alexandre Dujeux has worked wonders at SCO Angers. He joined the club in 2021 as an assistant before promotion to the No. 1 role in March 2023.
He couldn’t spare Angers from the drop that season but he brought them back into Ligue 1 at the first time of asking. Since returning to the top flight, they have stayed there. That is despite working with a minuscule budget and despite seeing key players such as Esteban Lepaul and Sidiki Chérif depart this season.
The club’s dire finances even prevented Angers from registering their elected replacement, Rémy Labeau Lascary. But despite that, Angers sit 12th in Ligue 1 this season and do not look in any danger of a drop back to Ligue 2. With eight games remaining, Angers are 13 points clear of the relegation play-off spot, and 15 points clear of the relegation zone.
Whilst safety is not yet mathematically secured, it could be next month, with just eight games remaining in Ligue 1. As reported by Ouest-France , should Le Sco secure safety, Dujeux’s deal will be extended automatically by one year, until 2028. GFFN | Luke Entwistle
