Former Pittsburgh Steeler and current New Orleans Saints cornerback Beanie Bishop has been suspended by the National Football League.
Former fan-favorite Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback and current New Orleans Saints cornerback Beanie Bishop has received a multiple-game suspension from the National Football League. On Tuesday, NFL Networkโs Tom Pelissero reported that Bishop is being suspended for three games to start the 2026 season. As of March 17, the league has not provided a reason for his suspension.
Saints DB Beanie Bishop has been suspended for the first three games of the 2026 season. โ Tom Pelissero (@TomPelissero) March 17, 2026 Bishop, who signed with the Steelers as an undrafted free agent following the 2024 NFL Draft, emerged as a talented playmaker in his rookie year with Pittsburgh, recording 45 combined tackles, four interceptions, seven passes defended, and one fumble recovery. The Steelers waived Bishop amid final roster cuts in August 2025 and re-signed him to their practice squad shortly after.
He was released from the Steelers' practice squad in November and joined the Saints' practice squad in December.
