Freshman Dominates in Podium Showcases Athletic Talents!
Appoquinimink senior Grady Redding won the 200-yard freestyle and 100 butterfly at the state meet.
Grady Redding is the Swimmer of the Year and headlines the Delaware All-State Boys Swimming and Diving teams announced by the stateโs coaches association. The Appoquinimink senior won the 200-yard freestyle and 100 butterfly at the DIAA Swimming and Diving championships on Feb. 28 at the University of Delaware's Rawstrom Natatorium.
Redding swam personal-best times in both events. His time of 1:38. 51 in the 200 freestyle was the fastest winning time at the state meet in 13 years.

The All-State teams, which also include 15 second team and honorable mention recipients, are determined based off performance at the state meet . The swimmers were honored at a banquet March 11.
