Aggies’ Perfect Start Lights Up College World Series Race!
Here are some of the best social media reactions from Texas A&M baseball's 9-6 comeback win over Texas State on Tuesday night.
After suffering a 2-1 series loss to the Oklahoma Sooners over the weekend, Texas A&M bounced back nicely with a 9-6 midweek win over Texas State . The Bobcats jumped out to an early 4-0 lead, but the Aggies erased the deficit with a massive fourth inning at the plate. Two of the five runs scored in the bottom half of the fourth came from a two-run homer from Sorrell, who blasted another two-run shot in the seventh that sealed the deal against Texas State to improve to 17-3 (1-2 in SEC play) on the season.
While the Aggie lineup flexed its muscles again, the Texas A&M bullpen continued to struggle. Entering the weekend against a dangerous Georgia Bulldogs ' lineup, the Aggies have posted a combined 3. 93 ERA through the first 20 contests of the season.
The unknowns and inconsistent outings from the starting rotation reared its ugly head against the Bobcats, as the Maroon and White gave up six runs on seven hits and walked five Texas State hitters. After Josh Stewart suffered an injury against the Sooners , the bullpen's depth continues to shrink. If Texas A&M wants to claim the series against Georgia, its success will depend on its pitching staff's performance.
