Texas A&M baseball erupted in the fourth inning Tuesday to beat Texas State and remain undefeated at home.
COLLEGE STATION — Thanks to an explosive fourth inning Tuesday, Texas A&M baseball defeated Texas State 9-6. Aggies (17-3, 1-2 SEC) fell into an early hole with the Bobcats' scoring four runs in the second inning. However, the maroon and white responded by scoring seven runs on five hits and two home runs in the bottom of the fourth to take a 7-4 lead.
A&M added two more insurance runs in the seventh inning to secure the win and maintain its undefeated home record. First baseman Gavin Grahovac also had two hits, going 2-for-3 with two RBIs and one walk. A&M finished with eight hits, drew four walks and was hit by a pitch once.
Second baseman Chris Hacopian contributed one hit, designated hitter Wesley Jordan had two hits, and shortstop Boston Kellner added one hit. Aggies opted for a bullpen outing, with freshman left-hander Cole Hubert getting the start. Hubert pitched 1⅓ innings, gave up four runs and four hits, struck out two batters, and walked one on 31 pitches.
