Former New England Patriots cornerback D'Angelo Ross seems to have found a new home after the Cleveland Browns agreed to re-sign him on Tuesday.
Ross played in seven games for the Browns last season after being signed off the Texans' practice squad. His impact was limited, as he recorded just nine combined tackles and two pass breakups. The Patriots signed Ross as an undrafted free agent in 2019, and he appeared in only three games for New England, playing those in 2021.
He later joined the Texans, where he played in 26 games from 2023 to 2025. Cleveland may need to rely on Ross this season, as he could step in as a potential slot cornerback. The Browns have secured their No.
1 and No. 2 cornerback positions with Denzel Ward and Tyson Campbell, but they traded their slot cornerback, Greg Newsome, last season, leaving a gap that needs to be filled this offseason. The Browns might consider re-signing cornerback Martin Emerson Jr.
