Porter Jr. Could Be Missing for Thunder in Key Game!
Brooklyn Nets forward Michael Porter Jr. (right ankle sprain) is questionable for Wednesday's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
The Brooklyn Nets are less than one month away from their 2025-26 NBA season ending and given the way the campaign has gone, the organization could be ready for the offseason to arrive. Before Brooklyn gets to the point of worrying about business matters to address, they still have some games to play and their best player could be back in the lineup for their next game. The Nets announced on Tuesday that forward Michael Porter Jr.
is questionable for Wednesday's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder as he's recovering from a right ankle sprain. Porter has missed Brooklyn's past three games due to the ankle sprain, but head coach Jordi Fernandez had an update on Porter's condition heading into Monday's 114-95 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers. "I'm not qualified to talk about grades, but I can share with you that he did form shooting prior to the last game [Saturday at Philadelphia] that we played, and today [Monday], it's going to be his first workout," Fernandez said of Porter.
"So, let's see how he feels after it's getting better, and then, we'll assess. " With Porter being listed as questionable for Wednesday's game against the Thunder, there's at least a chance that he will play. Moving on with the injury report, rookie guard Ben Saraf is questionable for Wednesday's game against Oklahoma City due to left foot soreness, but the hope is that he can take the floor given the circumstances.
With Brooklyn ruling out rookie guard Egor Demin and backup center Day'Ron Sharpe for the rest of the season, players like Saraf have a great opportunity to earn playing time, but injuries could potentially affect that plan moving forward. The good news is that rookie guard Nolan Traore and forward Terance Mann are probable for Wednesday's game against the Thunder with Traore dealing with a right eye abrasion and Mann recovering from left Achilles soreness. The Nets will likely have Traore and Mann in the rotation against Oklahoma City and there's a possibility that Porter and Saraf can be in the lineup as well.
