Dean allowed six hits, walked four, hit one and struck out eight. The tough-luck loss went to Jack Castillo, who pitched the first six innings for the Cardinals and allowed four hits, three walks and struck out six. “It was a good pitching duel,” Plattsburgh State head coach Sam Quinn-Loeb said.

“He (Dean) is their No. 1, and we had opportunities to score. ” Bostyn Duquette went two-for-two with a walk for Plattsburgh.
