Rutgers women’s basketball coach Gary Redus II signed a five-year deal through the 2030-31 season that will be worth a total of $4 million in salary, according to a contract obtained by NJ. com on Tuesday afternoon via an open public records request. Redus’ initial base salary is $750,000 this upcoming season and will raise by $25,000 every year.

It marks a significant raise from his base salary at LSU, which was $305,000 this past season, but a decrease from his predecessor. Coquese Washington, who was fired following her fourth season with the program, was set to earn $825,000 next season. Redus was officially introduced as the fourth full-time head coach of the storied Rutgers women’s basketball program on Tuesday afternoon.
