Brown have seemed to be set for a split for quite some time now. Whether or not he is actually on the trade block seems to depend on who you believe, but he was connected to the Denver Broncos immediately following the team's loss to the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship Game. The Broncos clearly needed another major offensive weapon in order to make a run at getting to the Super Bowl this coming season.

With Brown seemingly on his way out in Philly when the season ended, it seemed a natural fit for the Broncos to make that move. However, according to Dianna Russini of The Athletic , the idea was never considered by the team's front office. Instead, the Broncos made a deal with the Miami Dolphins to acquire their top wide receiver, Jaylen Waddle, on Tuesday.
