Micky to the haters: stop it with the false crap.

I’ve been pretty vocal in the comments recently about various Spurs social media influencers spreading unfounded rumors about players vocally wanting to leave the club. There was a pernicious one, ostensibly started by a prominent Spurs podcast which I will not name that made the rounds and got fans especially riled up where an unnamed Tottenham player supposedly said that he didn’t care if the club got relegated, because he expected to leave the team this summer anyway. That’s the kind of unsourced rumor that’s designed in a lab to stoke fan outrage, and somehow it got pinned on Micky van de Ven as the most likely culprit.

It was ridiculous, and in the press conference ahead of tomorrow’s Champions League second leg match against Atletico Madrid, Micky called it out. Both rightfully and righteously. “Yeah of course I’ve seen things passing by.

It’s not something I look at a lot to be honest. Reporters just say some things where you’re like how do you even come up with this? Players are switched off or don’t care about the situation that’s happening right now?
