Arsenal ‘monitoring’ two transfer targets ahead of summer clearout Arsenal have reportedly identified two defensive transfer targets ahead of the summer window as they set about refreshing the squad for next season. The Gunners are enjoying a strong campaign which is on track to end their six-year wait for a major trophy. They are currently top of the Premier League, play in the League Cup final this Sunday, and are still in the FA Cup and UEFA Champions League.

The north London outfit have built an impressive squad capable of fighting on numerous fronts, but their post-season plans are already underway as they are looking at who to buy and sell. Arsenal ‘monitoring’ transfer targets Livramento and Lukeba According to The Times , Arsenal have been “monitoring” Newcastle United right-back Tino Livramento and RB Leipzig centre-back Castello Lukeba, both of whom are 23-years-old. The pair could be bought this summer if the club sells a number of fringe players with uncertain futures.

There are “doubts” about the futures of Gabriel Martinelli, Myles Lewis-Skelly and Ethan Nwaneri. Martinelli has two years left on his contract, Lewis-Skelly has barely played this season after breaking through last year, while Nwaneri is currently on loan at Marseille. Jakub Kiwior is set to join FC Porto for £17 million once his loan deal concludes at the end of this season.

Reiss Nelson, Fábio Vieira and Karl Hein, who are all also on loan, are likely to be up for sale when the window opens.
