Steelers’ Superstar Ramps Up as Rodgers Legacy Takes Center Stage
Pittsburgh Steelers legendary CB Rod Woodson wants his former team to move on from Aaron Rodgers as the waiting game continues to dominate headlines.
The Aaron Rodgers-waiting game once again has cast a dark shadow over the Steel City, and one Pittsburgh Steelers legend is sick of it. Making an appearance on The Rich Eisen Show, Steelers legendary cornerback Rod Woodson called on his former team to move on from Rodgers. "Is he going to play?
I get kind of tired of it," Woodson said. "If he's going to play, say he's going to play, he's going to come back. The team shouldn't wait for Aaron Rodgers.
They need to move forward. " Rodgers, who strongly hinted at retirement on The Pat McAfee Show in June 2025, is believed by some to be heading towards a 2026 comeback with Pittsburgh. But it's becoming more and more difficult to fathom with each passing day, especially as the Steelers continue to lose out on almost every free agent quarterback available.
At some point, the Steelers will have no choice but to listen to Woodson's advice, especially with the 2026 NFL Draft set to take place in Pittsburgh in almost a month.
