The 18-year-old has been selected by Scot Gemmill for the European Championship qualifiers against Czech Republic and Portugal.
Fletcher made his first-team debut for United as a late substitute in last month's league victory over Tottenham and has been on the first team bench a further nine times since Boxing Day. Manchester-born Fletcher represented England at under-16 level but has since gone on to play for Scotland at under-16, under-17 and under-19 levels. The brothers played against each other in November during a Under-19s European Championship qualifier. In July 2023, the pair signed for United from direct rivals Manchester City for a reported combined fee of £1.

Fletcher senior, capped 80 times, is the under-18 coach at Old Trafford and had a two-game stint as caretaker head coach between the departure of Ruben Amorim and the interim appointment of Michael Carrick. Of the current national senior squad, Lewis Ferguson, Angus Gunn and Lennon Miller have fathers who played for Scotland.
