The Catalans plan to announce the continuation of their partnership until 2028 soon, Barça president Joan Laporta told radio station RAC1 on Tuesday.
“We all intend to extend the contract. Hansi is in favour of it as well,” he said. The 61-year-old former Germany and Bayern Munich coach is under contract with the Spanish champions until June 30, 2027.
“I would be very happy if he stayed for the next five years. For now, we will extend his contract by another year because we always want him to work with another year on his contract,” added Laporta, who was re-elected president on Sunday. The 63-year-old will remain president of the Spanish club until 2031.
Flick has been Barcelona coach since 2024 and led them to a league and cup double in his first season. They again top the table in Spain by four points with 10 matches left.
