Safety Dane Belton led the New York Giants in performance-based pay for the 2025 season, earning $1,023,291. That total ranked him 22nd league-wide. The NFL distributed $542 million in performance-based pay this year, an increase of $90 million, with the top 25 earners each receiving more than $1 million for the first time.

It divides a player's normalized playing time across phases by their compensation to determine shares from each team's pool.
This rewards players who see significant snaps despite lower salaries. Drafted in the fourth round in 2022, Belton played in all 17 games for the Giants last season and started nine. He recorded career-best numbers of 120 combined tackles (60 solo), 2.
