New Headline: Fresh Star Ryan Bates to Make Impact on NY Giants' Offense!

The New York Giants hosted veteran offensive lineman Ryan Bates for a visit on Monday as they hunt for low-cost depth on the offensive line. The 29-year-old, standing 6-foot-4 and 306 pounds, enters 2026 free agency after seven NFL seasons split between the Buffalo Bills and Chicago Bears. He has appeared in 92 regular-season games with 21 starts.
Bates signed with the Bills as an undrafted free agent out of Penn State in 2019 while current Giants general manager Joe Schoen served as assistant GM there. He spent five seasons in Buffalo, highlighted by starting 15 games at right guard in 2022. Limited action followed due to injuries, including zero offensive snaps last season with the Bears despite being active for 16 games.
Versatile across every interior line spot except tackle, Bates logged 1,089 snaps at right guard, 341 at left guard, and 203 at center. The Giants remain in need of a starter at right guard and depth across all positions, including center.
