Flick is expected to sign on until 2028 in the wake of Laporta’s election win, and the president wants the matter resolved quickly.
“We want to renew his contract until 2028, giving him a year’s grace period each year. He’s in favour, and we’ll announce the agreement shortly because he’s very happy here. It’s a decision made by Hansi, Yuste, and Deco,” he told RAC1.
“Flick has contributed, while respecting our genuine style of football, the qualities of a disciplined person with extremely high standards. He’s made the team function well again with the same players. He explains things clearly and addresses all questions.
His sincerity in explaining the footballing model, his way of working, and his expressive gestures… He has a group discipline and footballing vision that the Barcelona fans accept. “It would demonstrate stability and that we’re winning. I think it’s possible he’ll stay with Barça for another five years.
