Eastern Massachusetts Senior Softball is accepting registrations for players 50 and older for its 2026 season.

Eastern Massachusetts Senior Softball, a slow-pitch league geared to players ages 50-80-plus , is accepting registrations for the upcoming season, according to a community announcement. The league, which has about 500 members, draws participants from various communities, with games primarily held in Wayland, Medfield, Ashland and Framingham, according to the announcement. The season runs from late April through early October, including playoffs.

Eastern Massachusetts Senior Softball has six divisions to accommodate different skill levels. Two divisions play doubleheaders on Saturday mornings, while the other four play during weekday mornings. "We are a group of folks who recognize how lucky we are to be able to play a game we love at our current age and at a level that matches our abilities," said Steve Bober, commissioner of Eastern Massachusetts Senior Softball , in a statement.

The league adds about 60 new players each year and shuffles team rosters annually to enhance connections within the community. "Our members enjoy competing with and against their friends," board member Rich Goldberg said in a statement. Steve Elkinson, a member, emphasized the league's recreational value.

"Aches and pains are easily tolerated when offset by the joy of playing and competing with friends," he said in a statement. "At a cost of roughly $5 per game, thereโ€™s no better value for healthy recreation. " For more information, visit e-mass.
