The Pat Fitzgerald era of Michigan State football begins Tuesday, March 17, as the Spartans open their first spring practice under their new coach.

EAST LANSING – Before daybreak comes the dawn of Michigan State football 's renaissance. Could it come at a more fitting time than the early morning hours of St. Patrick’s Day?

That’s when new coach Pat Fitzgerald will bring his team together for its inaugural spring practice in green and white, a 6:40 a. m. wakeup call for the first of 15 workouts to teach and galvanize the Spartans heading into the 2026 season.
