Pro Bowl Star Calls for 'Epic' Fan Response in 2023!

The Commanders are still searching for help at wide receiver. Would a certain 4-time Pro Bowler from nearby be an option?

The Washington Commanders are on the hunt for help at wide receiver this offseason. Washington swung big for the top receiver in free agency, Alec Pierce, before he chose to return to the Indianapolis Colts. Pierce earned a four-year deal worth $116 million and Washington was competitive with its offer.

The Commanders also attempted to sign Romeo Doubs, but he signed with the New England Patriots. Toward the end of last week, GM Adam Peters made a pair of depth signings, adding former Washington draft pick Dyami Brown and veteran Van Jefferson . One top free-agent receiver remains available: Jauan Jennings.

However, he hasn't been linked to the Commanders despite Peters knowing Jennings well from their shared time in San Francisco. Washington could also bring back Deebo Samuel, but that doesn't appear in the cards. The Commanders loved Samuel, but prefer a different type of receiver in 2026.

The 2026 NFL Draft is just over a month away, and it's almost a certainty that the Commanders will select a wide receiver, potentially as high as No. 7 overall. Washington could also still sign Brandon Aiyuk when the 49ers eventually move on from him, but that's something it can count on.
