FC Bayern is taking some heat.

Leverkusen, Germany - March 14: referee Christian Dingert shows a red card to Nicolas Jackson of FC Bayern Munchen during the German Bundesliga match between Bayer 04 Leverkusen and FC Bayern Munchen at BayArena on March 14, 2026 in Leverkusen, Germany. (Photo by Marcel ter Bals/DeFodi Images/DeFodi via Getty Images) | DeFodi Images via Getty Images Union Berlin managing director Horst Heldt did not hold back in criticizing Bayern Munich for its public complaining about the performance of the referees during the Rekordmeister ’s 1-1 draw with Bayer Leverkusen over the weekend. The Bavarians were handed two red cards and had two goals disallowed, which drew the ire of quite a few players and club luminaries.

“This is simply out of order with regard to the other teams, such a scale of it. And we are the ones suffering. We will be the ones suffering next week.

And that’s unacceptable. It simply carries a different weight when Bayern Munich publicly addresses such topics. There are always situations where clubs get somewhat upset about decisions.

I don’t exclude myself from that either. But what’s happening right now is incomparable. The next refereeing team at the next match, good luck with that.
