Buccaneers Add Feeney to Superstar Offensive Line
Tampa Bay shores up interior line depth by re-signing veteran Dan Feeney for 2026. His mid-season surge proved crucial in their offensive line resurgence.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are keeping one of their offensive line depth pieces around for the 2026 season, as the team announced that it had re-signed interior offensive lineman Dan Feeney. Feeney went from getting cut by the Buffalo Bills at the end of training camp last season to becoming one of the most important members of the Tampa Bay offensive line. The Bucs signed Feeney in September, and he ended up starting 10 of his 12 regular-season games at left guard.
If the Bucs have a healthy offensive line this season, Cody Mauch and Ben Bredeson, who both missed time in 2025 due to knee injuries, would compete with Feeney for the starting role. Feeney ended 2025 with a 54. 2 overall grade, which was 62nd out of 81 guards.
However, the Bucs brass liked Feeney well enough to bring him back. For one, he's been around the block, with 2026 being his 10th NFL season. A multi-time All-American at Indiana before Curt Cignetti turned the Hoosiers from a joke to a juggernaut, Feeney went to the Los Angeles Chargers in the third round of the 2017 draft.
Feeney had a promising rookie season, with the PFWA naming him to its All-Rookie squad. He started every regular-season game at left guard the next season, and then logged more than 1,000 snaps in each of the next two campaigns. After his rookie contract expired, Feeney signed a one-year deal with the New York Jets.
