The Los Angeles Lakers ' most critical stretch of games continued on Monday when they started a six-game road trip with a contest against Kevin Durant and the Houston Rockets . They came into this matchup with a five-game winning streak, and they had an opportunity to put some separation between them and the Rockets in the standings. After most of the first half was close, Houston went into halftime up 57-51 and then built a 63-53 lead early in the third quarter.
The Lakers responded with a 12-2 run and were up 83-80 going into the final quarter before both teams displayed a ton of offensive ineptitude in the fourth period. A. came up with defensive stops and scores. After falling behind 88-85 with 6:12 to go, it went on a 15-2 run to earn a 100-92 win.
