SAN ANGELO, Texas ( Concho Valley Homepage ) — The No. 8 Angelo State University softball team went 3-1 combined in a pair of Lone Star Conference doubleheaders against Cameron and No. 12 Oklahoma Christian this past weekend in the Sooner State.
After going 0-6 in their previous half-dozen road games against Cameron in Lawton, Oklahoma, the Belles had better luck against the Aggies this time. ASU won the opener 6-4 in nine innings last Friday, and took the nightcap 3-1. On Saturday, the Belles dropped the first game against OCU, 9-2.
But ASU salvaged a split with a 5-4 decision in Game 2 against the Lady Eagles. ASU is now 25-6 overall and 14-2 in conference. The Belles went into the weekend tied for first place with No.
