NC State Takes Down Duke in Thrilling Match
GREENVILLE, N. C. (WNCT) — The First Four in Dayton tips-off the 2026 NCAA Basketball Tournament on March 17, with NC State getting things started against Texas.
Both the Wolfpack and the Longhorns just made it into the this year’s tournament and will vie for a chance to play 6-seed BYU in the First Round on March 19. It’s a long road ahead for either team because with a win, that team would have to fly from Dayton, Ohio to Portland, Oregon for the next game. NC State head coach Will Wade said he and his team are happy to have gotten a bid despite not playing well down the stretch.
“We put ourselves in this position,” Wade said. “And so we’re excited to be in the tournament and excited to be in Dayton. It’s a great basketball city, great basketball fans, great basketball arena, everything.
” Tip-off time for the game will be approximately 9:15pm. Copyright 2026 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
