Star guard Trae Young had 21 points for the Wizards – who played without star big man Anthony Davis and starting big man Alex Sarr – before checking out for good in the third quarter with a left quad contusion. The Warriors (33-35) faced minimal resistance from Washington's 29th-rated defense, driving, passing and cutting their way to a 64-57 halftime lead. Porzingis scored 15 first-half points, feasting in the paint for four baskets as Golden State mounted a 17-point lead early in the second quarter.
