Venezuela rallied past Italy in the semifinals of the 2026 World Baseball Classic, setting up a final matchup with Team USA.
Team Venezuela has never previously made it this far. Until this sixth iteration of the World Baseball Classic, Venezuela hadn’t played in a semifinal game until 2009, its first. But here they are, underdogs again, as they face Team USA – the favorites entering this tourney – in Tuesday night’s final at Miami.
