Streak Smashes Barrier: Ramirez Slides Safely Back to Second!
Cleveland Guardians skipper shares the latest on Jose Ramirez after he exited Sunday's game with an injury.
After Jose Ramirez left Sunday’s game early with what the team was calling shoulder inflammation, Stephen Vogt said he didn’t have much information at the time, but would give an update the following day. He did just that on Monday. The Cleveland Guardians skipper shared the latest on J-Ram’s injury and where the team’s superstar stands with 10 days to go before Opening Day.
“Jose came out of the game [on Sunday with], some shoulder soreness, tightness, but he's feeling much, much better today… he was evaluated postgame, and, you know, the big factor was going to be, how does he feel coming in to today, and he felt much better,” explained Vogt. “So we're going to reassess him day by day. He should be just fine in a few days.
” On the day of the injury, the Guardians were still unsure which tests were needed to determine the severity of the shoulder injury. Thankfully, Vogt noted that Ramirez didn’t need to undergo an MRI or any other imaging. Cleveland’s skipper continued that Ramirez was “Just testing it and seeing how he felt coming in today with the improvement.
Don't plan right now on doing [and MRI]. ” Sep 18, 2025; Detroit, Michigan, USA; Cleveland Guardians third base Jose Ramirez (11) celebrates after he hits a two run home run in the seventh inning against the Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park.
