If you can't beat 'em, join 'em . After criticizing Shai Gilgeous-Alexander for foul-baiting and NBA referees for rewarding it last week, Jaylen Brown had a historic game at the free-throw line for the Boston Celtics on Monday night. Brown went 19 for 21 at the charity stripe, setting career highs in makes and attempts.

That accounted for nearly half of his 41 points as he led the Celtics to a 120-112 victory over the Phoenix Suns at TD Garden. In the process, Brown became just the third Boston player in the last 20 years to attempt at least 20 foul shots in a game, joining Paul Pierce and Jayson Tatum. He attacked the basketball all night long, getting 10 free throw attempts in the first quarter alone.
