Advanced talks are already taking place. The Portuguese midfielder wants to establish himself at the club in the long-term – but in the short and medium term, a loan move in the summer is possible. This is a very interesting development.

With the Bavarians headed set to be seeking a replacement for Leon Goretzka in the summer, is it possible that the club will look to promote from within with Daiber Santos? Maybe. This could be a case where the intent is use the 19-year-old with the first team next season, but — maybe — add one more body to make the central midfield group consist of five players (Joshua Kimmich, Aleksandar Pavlović, Tom Bischof, Santos Daiber, and a new player).

With Konrad Laimer also able to play in the central midfield, this could give Vincent Kompany plenty of options — and looks — for his central midfield. Join the conversation! Sign up for a user account and get: New, improved notifications system!
