Mar. 16—GRAND FORKS — The Grand Forks girls wrestling community has found another All-American. Grand Forks Central senior Sky Kopp placed third in the 190 pound weight class at the USA Wrestling Folkstyle Nationals in Des Moines, Iowa on March 14th, earning All-American status.
Kopp went 4-1 in the tournament. Kopp is the third girl from Grand Forks Gladiators Wrestling Club to earn High School All-American status in the past four years following Emily Novak, who was National Runner-up last year and Allyssa Johnson, who was a National Champion three years ago. The Grand Forks Gladiators saw two others receive All-American status.
Charlotte Crowston, who competes with the Pembina County North program during the high school season, finished seventh at 120 pounds in the 16-and-under division. Grand Forks Central's Rhys Safratowich took eighth at 150 pounds in the boys 16-U division. He's the first male to earn All-American honors for Grand Forks since Daniel Suda took eighth in 2021.
