Dodgers Edge Loss in Four-Game Losing Skid
The Los Angeles Dodgers blew another 7-0 lead for the second time this spring, losing in a 24-9 blowout to the Milwaukee Brewers on Monday. Tyler Glasnow threw 4. 1 innings in the outing, the second appearance in which he has pitching into the fifth inning this spring, and had a solid showing.
He allowed three hits and three earned runs, two of which crossed the plate after he had left the game, and struck out six batters in the game. The Dodgers took the lead through a Zach Erhard single in the second inning, and Teoscar Hernandez continued his fantastic spring with a three-run shot in the bottom of the third. The Brewers scored nine more runs in the top of the seventh inning, extending their lead to 19-7. LA scored two consolation runs in the final innings of the game with a sacrifice fly in the seventh and an RBI single in the eighth, but neither amounted to much as they failed to bring themselves within striking distance as the Brewers extended their lead to 15 in the ninth.
The Dodgers have lost every game in which they have allowed 10 or more runs in the Cactus League, also suffering losses to the San Francisco Giants, Cincinnati Reds and Athletics over the course of the last month. Theyโll look to gain some momentum before heading into Opening Day, which comes against the Arizona Diamondbacks on March 26. Their next spring training game comes Tuesday against the Kansas City Royals, where Roki Sasaki will return to the major league side for a start. Did you draw any positives from the game?
