These 2026 dates that locked in the 2027 guarantees for each player were baked into the original contracts Lawrence and Van Lanen signed, providing more long-term stability for each player.

2 Jacksonville #Jaguars players had contract triggers vest this weekend: QB Trevor Lawrenceโ€™s $41M 2027 salary is now guaranteed $15. 25M of OT Cole Van Lanenโ€™s 2027 salary is now guaranteed โ€” Spotrac (@spotrac) March 16, 2026 If anything, due to the hefty guarantees, it makes getting out of those contracts much more difficult for the Jaguars, with there being a heavy amount of dead cap that would have to be navigated. However, with Van Lanen just signing his contract extension in December and Lawrence playing at a high level in his first season under Liam Coen, moving on from either player a year from now shouldn't be on the Jaguars' radar.
