Indiana men’s basketball’s first season under head coach Darian DeVries came to a close with the Hoosiers not receiving a bid to play in the 2026 NCAA Tournament. Indiana will not be playing in any other postseason tournaments, per multiple reports.
The Hoosiers finished 18-4 overall, 9-11 in Big Ten play and 10th in the final conference standings. They fell to Northwestern in their first and only game of the Big Ten Tournament. DeVries now enters the second straight offseason where the bulk of his starting lineup will almost certainly have to be signed through the transfer portal or internationally.
The difference this time being that all of Indiana’s assistants have been hired and program infrastructure is in place, including Ryan Carr’s general manager-like role. With all of this in mind, how would you grade DeVries’ first season in Bloomington? How confident are you heading into the offseason?
