Hope your week has gotten off to a good start. As usual, there’s been no shortage of news in the University of Miami sports pantheon, so let’s get to it…. 1) The Hurricanes are in the tourney, and they’re a 7 seed in the West region.

A 7 seed is where I had a feeling they’d end up based on the projections and due to their inability to get to the ACC tourney final. It’s not a terrible spot but getting out of the first weekend for a 7 or 8 is tricky, given game two is against a 1 or 2 seed. In Miami’s case, they’d get 2 seed Purdue if they advance.

There could be worse 2 seeds to go up against. Yes, Purdue got hot and won the Big Ten tourney, but coming into it, they’d looked mortal down the stretch, losing four of six to end the regular season. Of course, those four all came to tournament teams, but still, they showed some warts.
