With the departure of Kenneth Walker to the Kansas City Chiefs , the Seattle Seahawks have a shaky situation at running back going into 2026.

With Walker gone, the Seahawks signed Emanuel Wilson , who is a career backup, and he joins a room that includes Zach Charbonnet, George Holani and Kenny McIntosh, and Charbonnet and McIntosh are coming off torn ACLs . Safe to say that, at the very least, Seattle needs more competition for that room. In order to add that competition, Colton Edwards of Yardbarker predicts Seattle will sign former San Francisco 49ers running back Brian Robinson Jr.

, who Spotrac is projecting will land a one-year, $3 million deal in free agency. Robinson's efficiency as a between-the-tackles runner (43. 3% success rate over three seasons) stands out, but fumble issues (eight in the first three years) and limited receiving/pass-blocking skills cap his appeal.

Traded to the 49ers in 2025, he showed explosiveness without turnovers on 100 touches. His contact balance and ability to move the chains will be highly needed. Likely Landing Spot: Seattle Seahawks Robinson spent last season as a backup to Christian McCaffrey.
