New Headline: "RB's Fireworks Set Off Seasonal Blast: Steelers Rookie Lights Up Practice Fields

Yahoo Sports

The Pittsburgh Steelers have made several big moves early on this offseason in an attempt to build off of their positive 2025 campaign. While there’s still a massive question mark at the quarterback position , thanks to Aaron Rodgers taking his time to decide on his NFL future, the rest of the roster looks to be in pretty good shape. Of course, there are still holes that need to be filled, one of which is on the offensive line.

After losing Isaac Seumalo to the Arizona Cardinals in free agency, Pittsburgh needs a new left guard. As a result, Brendan Donahue of Sharp Football Analysis predicted that the team will select Penn State Nittany Lions offensive lineman Vega Ioane in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft. “After losing starting left guard Isaac Seumalo in free agency, the Steelers can take the consensus best guard in the draft,” Donahue wrote.

“While we don’t know for sure who will be playing quarterback for Pittsburgh next season, we can assume it will be 42-year-old Aaron Rodgers, so beefing up the interior offensive line should be a priority in the draft. ” Ioane has starred for Penn State over the past three years, and he enters the 2026 draft as the top guard available. Ioane should be available when Pittsburgh is on the clock, and he could be a plug-and-play starter for the team by Week 1.

It will be worth seeing if the front office adds some help here in free agency, but if they don’t, Ioane could be their top target in the first round of the draft.
