The Arizona Diamondbacks are adding to their infield depth with less than two weeks of spring training remaining. The NL West club had a relatively quiet offseason besides making a trade for third baseman Nolan Arenado and signing veteran first baseman Carlos Santana. Ketel Marte is the undisputed starting second baseman for manager Torey Lovullo's club, but they are bringing in a eight-year veteran into the mix, likely as injury insurance.
According to an announcement made by the Reno Aces, Arizona's Triple-A affiliate, the Diamondbacks have signed utility infielder Luis Urias to a minor league free agent contract.
