The Athletic's Jim Bowden picked one player from each team who's turning heads in spring training. The former MLB general manager chose Durbin as Boston's preseason standout performer. "Durbin has all the intangibles you look for in winning players, including a high baseball IQ," Bowden wrote.

"Offensively, he can get on base and has both power and speed. His offense should also benefit from playing half his games with the Green Monster at Fenway. " Durbin has batted 12-for-30 with four doubles and a triple this spring.

The 26-year-old has displayed his keen contact skills by striking out only twice in 37 plate appearances.
