Magic of Quentin Sets to Ignite Philadelphia's Offense!
The Philadelphia 76ers are continuing to look to Quentin Grimes to carry the load on the offensive end of the floor.
PHILADELPHIA -- As the Philadelphia 76ers move forward, they will need others to step up and produce until they can get healthy down the stretch of the season. That means the emphasis will be on Quentin Grimes to continue producing at a high level on the offensive end of the floor. Grimes has scored 20-plus points in three of the last four games, including scoring a season-high 31 points in Sunday's win over the Portland Trail Blazers .
He has struggled with his 3-point shot as he has shot only 5-for-30 from deep over his last five games, but it's obvious that he has been able to score in other ways to keep the scoreboard moving for the Sixers. He shot a perfect 15-for-15 from the foul line combined in Saturday's win over the Brooklyn Nets and Sunday's win over the Blazers. Combine that with his ability to finish some tough looks at the rim, and the Sixers have to be happy with what Grimes has brought to the floor.
"I think, again, he knows we need offensive production, right? " coach Nick Nurse said after the win. "Obviously, we do run a lot more things for him, but also, turn him loose a little bit more, and just tell him, you gotta pull the 3, or you gotta drive it.
Whatever you can do much more often. " Grimes will eventually need to find his rhythm from the 3-point line, but the fact that he has been able to put the ball on the floor and attack the basket is such an underrated aspect of his game and the Sixers will need to rely on that for now. "Again, some of those finishes he made driving tonight?
