Leeds United Receive Response Regarding 25-Year-Old Championship Star: Does He Fill The Attacking Gap In The Team? Derby County have been blunt about it. Patrick Agyemang is not for sale at a knockdown price, and any club hoping to take him away this summer will need to pay a serious fee.

According to Football Insider’s Transfer Insider podcast, where journalist Pete O’Rourke broke down the situation in detail, Leeds United have been tracking him for months, though Derby remain extremely reluctant to lose one of their key attacking players. Agyemang joined Pride Park from Charlotte FC in July 2025 for a fee in the region of £6 million, signing a four-year contract until 2029, and his performances since then have pushed his price up sharply. The Connecticut-born forward has produced ten goals and four assists across 33 Championship appearances this season, playing a central role in Derby sitting in eighth place, just three points short of the playoff positions.

At 6ft 4in, he possesses physical presence with real quality on the ball, and his early record for the United States Men’s National Team, five goals in 12 caps, and his numbers for the USMNT back that up. O’Rourke stressed that Derby have no real plans to lose him unless their promotion bid fails, adding that Leeds would need to table a significant fee to open talks. Derby’s asking price has almost certainly risen well beyond the initial £6 million outlay, with his current market value sitting around £7 million and likely climbing with each goal he scores.

Speaking on Football Insider’s Transfer Insider podcast, Pete O’Rourke said: “Yeah, he’s obviously been a long-term target for Leeds. Look, if they stay in the Premier League, there’s no doubt they will have the money to strengthen the squad. Agyemang has had a very good debut season in England for Derby.

Derby spent a decent fee on him when they did sign him in the summer; it was around six million pounds. So I’m sure his price tag has gone up since that. Derby have no real plans to lose him.
