Agyemang joined Pride Park from Charlotte FC in July 2025 for a fee in the region of £6 million, signing a four-year contract until 2029, and his performances since then have pushed his price up sharply. The Connecticut-born forward has produced ten goals and four assists across 33 Championship appearances this season, playing a central role in Derby sitting in eighth place, just three points short of the playoff positions.

At 6ft 4in, he possesses physical presence with real quality on the ball, and his early record for the United States Men’s National Team, five goals in 12 caps, and his numbers for the USMNT back that up. O’Rourke stressed that Derby have no real plans to lose him unless their promotion bid fails, adding that Leeds would need to table a significant fee to open talks.
