Buffalo Bills sign safety Gene Stone to one year deal

The Bills are adding a former league interceptions leader to compete in their secondary. Buffalo signed safety Geno Stone to a one-year contract, the team announced Saturday. The move comes after the team added corner Dee Alford on a three-year deal, and safety C.

twitter. com/lGV9u4wdIR — Geno Stone (@GenoStone22) March 13, 2026 Stone has had 14 INTs and 21 pass breakups over the past three seasons, and also missed 25 tackles in the 2025 season, his area of weakness. That being said, he had an NFL-leading seven interceptions for the Baltimore Ravens in 2023.

His success with the Ravens was the result of a specific system, as Baltimore deployed Stone almost exclusively in a deep-half role with heavy two-high safety shells, allowing him to read quarterbacks' eyes and jump routes while behind a strong pass rush. He played in 17 games, starting 11, while logging 68 tackles, 9 passes defended, 7 interceptions, and allowing only a 53. 3 passer rating when targeted.
