Diaz, a 40-year-old fan favorite, is taking on his first MMA bout since 2022, when he fought out of his UFC contract and became a free agent. “It’s time. ’’ Perry, a 34-year-old bareknuckle brawler nicknamed “The King of Violence,” also has a history in MMA. He is 14-8 (7-8 UFC) and this will be his first MMA fight since 2021.

“The King of Violence returns to MMA to elbow his opponent in the (expletive) face,’’ Perry said, according to the new release. The fight between Diaz and Perry is scheduled for five rounds. One thing Diaz and Perry have in common: Paul has beaten both of them in boxing.
