Grace Hibler Soars Above All in Epic Piggly Wiggly Sports Challenge!
With more than 53% of last week's vote, Franklin/Muskego senior gymnast Grace Hibler won the Piggly Wiggly high school athlete of the week poll.
Grace Hibler of Franklin/Muskego gymnastics was the winner of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Piggly Wiggly high school athlete of the week poll from March 9-14. The senior led Franklin/Muskego's Division 1 runner-up finish in the team competition at state gymnastics with a 36. 3334 all-around score.
She also finished 10th in the individual all-around (36. 2667). Hibler received 59,678 of 111,246 total votes cast.
Jakob Kotari Schmitz of the Brown Deer/Messmer/Shorewood boys wrestling co-op was the runner-up of last week's poll. The sophomore pinned freshman Gracin Duren at the 3:55 mark of his 120-pound match before teammate Maximus Hay sealed the 37-32 team victory at 126 with a pinfall win at the 57-second mark. Other nominees included Mackenzie Gruszynski of Hartford gymnastics, Kendall Chuckel of Arrowhead gymnastics and Gabi Ortiz Fleet of the Shorewood/University School of Milwaukee gymnastics co-op.
