Nate Diaz will be back for the first time since 2022 – but it won't be in the UFC.

Another major name in MMA will return to the cage this summer – and like other recent big announcements, it won't be in the UFC. Nate Diaz, who hasn't fought since a submission of Tony Ferguson in September 2022, is set to meet fellow former UFC welterweight Mike Perry in June. They'll fight on the first MMA card in the history of MVP Promotions, which is headed by Jake Paul.

MVP announced the new booking Monday. Group chats everywhere are about to explode over this one… 🔥 OFFICIAL 🔥 @NateDiaz209 🆚 @PlatinumPerry ——— Saturday, May 16th LIVE only on Netflix Intuit Dome - Los Angeles, CA #DiazPerry #RouseyCarano #NgannouLins pic. twitter.

But if that wasn't enough, MVP also managed to get Francis Ngannou out of his deal with the PFL to return to MMA against Philipe Lins.

And now Diaz and Perry, two swing-for-the-fences fighters covered in battle scars, have joined the party. Stay tuned to MMA Junkie for more on this story. This article originally appeared on MMA Junkie: Nate Diaz bails on UFC, meets Mike Perry on Rousey-Carano Netflix card
