But when Corbin Carroll went down with an injury last month, Anthony got the offer to fill in for him on Team USA. It's proven to be a tremendous experience for the 21-year-old, who's more than held his own in his first WBC. Anthony launched a pair of big home runs last week, helping USA beat Mexico in pool play and the Dominican Republic in the semifinal.

After smashing the go-ahead home run in Sunday's 2-1 win over the DR, Anthony revealed his biggest takeaways and lessons from the tournament so far. "I think for me, coming into it, the biggest thing is understanding the group that I have around me, right? The knowledge, the experience, so many guys who have impacted this game in such amazing ways," Anthony told the FOX postgame crew .
