That's what the Philadelphia Eagles recently experienced, and now they're trying to make the most of this offseason to earn a return to the big game. The Athletic's Jordan Rodrigue spotted one signing in particular that could make the Eagles an even more dangerous squad in the 2026 NFL season: Riq Woolen. Philly signed the big cornerback away from the Seattle Seahawks , and he joins what could be a dynamic secondary.

"Most interesting move : Signing cornerback Riq Woolen to a one-year deal worth up to $15 million," Rodrigue writes. "If pairing Woolen with Cooper DeJean (slot/safety) and Quinyon Mitchell (perimeter cornerback) works, this will be as dominant a secondary as there is in the NFL right now. She thinks there isn't a team with more potential outcomes in 2026 than Philadelphia. "To me, the Eagles have the highest variance of any NFL team in 2026," Rodrigue writes. "At their best or middle-best, though, they are a playoff team.
