Dallas ISD vs. Frisco Heritage Head to Championship Stage in Epic State Finals!

James Madison High School secured the 3A Division I State Championship Image by Dallas ISD News Hub North Texas high school boys’ basketball programs delivered a flawless performance at the UIL state tournament, winning all nine of their final matchups over the weekend at the Alamodome in San Antonio. The region’s teams went a perfect 9-0 in championship games , securing titles across multiple classifications. In a historic first for Dallas ISD, three boys’ programs — James Madison , Justin F.

Kimball , and David W. Carter — all claimed state crowns. Madison took the Class 3A Division I title with a 70-59 victory over Orangefield.

Kimball captured the 4A Division I championship, topping Fort Bend Crawford 62-42 for the program’s ninth state title overall. Carter completed the district sweep in 4A Division II, defeating LaMarque 67-41. Other North Texas winners included Lipan , which edged Martin’s Mill 47-34 in the 2A Division II final; Paradise , which beat Palestine Westwood 52-51 in 3A Division II; Frisco Heritage , which downed Beaumont West Brook 60-47 in 5A Division I; Mansfield Summit , which topped Beaumont United 52-40 in 5A Division II; North Crowley , which defeated Northside Brennan 65-52 in 6A Division I; and Little Elm , which rolled past Austin Westlake 57-35 in 6A Division II.

The 5A Division I championship win was historic for the Frisco Heritage Coyotes as well. A buzzer-beater shot by SMU signee Cameron Lomax during the semi-finals against the Birdville Hawks set the stage, marking the first time a Frisco ISD boys basketball team advanced to the state finals. The team finished what they started with a decisive victory over Beaumont Westbrook in the UIL finals, becoming Heritage High School’s first team UIL state champion and the first Frisco ISD boys basketball team to win a state title .
