Arteta Urges Arsenal to Prioritize Champions' Finances
Arteta provides latest injury update on Arsenal trio Mikel Arteta says Martin Odegaard and Jurrien Timber will miss Arsenal’s Champions League round of 16 second leg against Bayer Leverkusen. Neither took part in training ahead of the game , with Odegaard having missed the last five games because of a knee issue. “Yes both of them are,” Arteta responded when asked if they are out.
But Arteta says he is hopeful both could be back for the Carabao Cup final against Manchester City. “We are really pushing him (Odegaard),” Arteta said. “He really wants to try to be available but we’ll have to wait and see in the next few days when he trains with the team, how he feels.
“We know we’re playing again in a few days and the more players we have, the better. ” On Timber, he said: “We don’t know. I think with him it will be a matter of days but not sure.
” But in a boost for Arteta, Leandro Trossard is back available having missed the win over Everton on Saturday. “He’s okay. He felt good so he’s available,” he said.
Arsenal will take on the Bundesliga side at the Emirates with the tie level at 1-1 from the first leg
